Victoria R. Romano

Victoria R. Romano is a violinist, composer, and ethnomusicologist. Born and raised in New Jersey, she received a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, where she also studied viola. She obtained her PhD in Digital Composition at the University of California, Riverside, where she also completed a Master’s in Ethnomusicology.

Victoria composes for stage, screen, and the studio; recent projects include the cabaret musical Connecting Dot: A Kindred Revue, the feature film When Men Were Men, and arrangements for an ongoing roster of recording artists traversing a wide array of genres and idioms. Victoria is an active member of ASCAP and Maestra.

Victoria assisted with courses in music theory and popular music studies at the University of California. She possesses a decade of experience as a violin and viola instructor and loosely follows the Suzuki approach. Students can expect to balance scales, etudes, and repertoire.
