Zachary Krieger
Zachary Krieger obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Music degree in vocal pedagogy and performance from Westminster Choir College. While studying at Central Michigan University, he performed with the university opera company and gave frequent art song recitals.
While at Westminster, he enjoyed singing with the Westminster Symphonic Choir and remains inspired by some of those performances; his favorites include Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem with the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, as well as Handel’s Messiah with The New York Philharmonic conducted by Peter Schreier. Some other notable performances of his include Bach’s St. John Passion (bass soloist, Jesus, and chorus), Bach’s Christ lag in Todesbanden (bass soloist and chorus), and Mozart’s Don Giovanni (Leporello). Furthering his education, Zachary studied French art song at the Vancouver International Song Institute, and earned a certificate in musical theater vocal pedagogy from Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Zachary is currently a bass section leader at Trinity Episcopal Church in Princeton and also works at the Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ. At Peddie he is the assistant director of choirs, staff accompanist, and private vocal instructor. As music director, Zachary has worked on Annie, Jr., Pirates of Penzance, Jr., Beauty and the Beast, Jr., Aladdin, Jr., and Legally Blonde, Jr. Additionally, he has worked as coach accompanist for Les Misérables, Legally Blonde, and most recently, The Prom. He is thrilled to be working this summer with CCAP; musical theater is a powerful tool for facilitating musical and personal growth in teachers and students alike. What an exciting opportunity!
